The summer of 2006 and 2007 I worked with my Mentor and friend Kathy shooting weddings in our area. She will say she only photographs weddings for people she knows, but that is decieving, because after being a photographer in the area for 25 + years, she knows Everyone! It was fun and so full of great shots and learning. I thank her tremendously for her giving me the opportunities, and I look forward to working with her again, it is so much more fun when there is two of us!
The first wedding I ever shot with Kathy was at the Powell Butte Church in December of 2005, and we were using film. I alone shot over 400 pictures, I giggle to think she had to develop all those, and wonder how she really felt about having me as her side kick, costing her money! We often talk about how much we LOVE digital now, because we can fire at will and never worry about taking too many picture.
Unfortunatley, I have no samples of my film photographed weddings, but here are a couple of ones we shot using digital.

These photos were from a fun wedding that took place on property belonging to the brides family. I had a great time shooting up hill at them, giving the "on top of the world" look, isn't that how every newlywed couple should feel?!

Some of these photos were fun for me because of the lighting, which was being helped by a wildfire in the area creating wonderful colors in the late afternoon sun. The bride and groom were fun and I enjoyed their playfulness in the garden, and the quiet escape with nobody but the donkey and I watching them go. The bagpipe player was great, and I really like the cake picture with the new couple dancing in the background. It is not edited to-death, but it is still one of my favorites.
